Guest safety is the number one priority in the operation of the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark; safety is achieved through dedication and teamwork to ensure that each guest has a memorable and safe experience at the world’s only Fallsview waterpark. This high level of safety has been a priority from the initial design and construction of the waterpark including covering the floor in an anti slip rubber safety surface to help prevent injuries, to the daily internal maintenance and safety checks.
Prior to opening the waterpark each day, management and maintenance staff inspect the Waterpark to ensure the attractions are in safe working order. The Fallsview Indoor Waterpark is also subject to a set of external examinations including inspections by the Technical Safety Standards Authority (TSSA) and the Niagara Region Health Department throughout the year.
To ensure guest safety, the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark is a member of the National Lifesaving Society (LSS), Canada’s leading lifesaving organization. This organization works to prevent drowning and water-related injury through training programs, public education, safety management services and lifesaving support and provides the only nationally recognized lifeguarding certification.
All aquatic staff members are rotated throughout the waterpark on their shift to ensure the highest level of alertness, and attend mandatory in-water training to ensure that their skills meet the high level of standards set out by the NLS. Lifeguards hold the NLS Award in addition to their First Aid & CPR certificate. Slide attendants hold a Standard First Aid & CPR Certificate. All aquatic staff members are easily identifiable in red and black uniforms to be able to quickly offer assistance.
Safety is further maximized for non-swimmers on the waterslides to ensure that all guests are able to participate and enjoy the waterpark. All riders are supervised by a trained waterpark attendant and the slides end in a run out containing less than 1 foot of water. The Fallsview Indoor Waterpark also encourages the use of life jackets in the wave pool for smaller children. Life jackets are supplied at no charge upon request, outside life jackets and other flotation devices including pool noodles, floating baby chairs and other flotation devices are not permitted in the waterpark to limit possibilities of cross-contamination.
Throughout the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, guests are invited to become partners in safety, and are asked to pay attention to signage, verbal commands by lifeguards and to obey any height, weight, skill and health restrictions for the various parts of the waterpark. The slides have a minimum height requirement as regulated by the TSSA to ensure rider safety. Emergency telephones are also conveniently located and easily identifiable by the Tidal Wave Pool and the Horseshoe Springs Hot Tubs.
The goal of the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark is to constantly maintain and upgrade its services to provide the safest and most enjoyable waterpark experience for guests of all ages. We hope that you enjoy your time with us.
