If you’re looking for some other ways to enjoy the summer before it’s over, Niagara Falls has a whole bunch of attractions to keep you cool inside the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, and outside!
You could always get up and personal with the falls by visiting the Table Rock Welcome Centre on the Niagara Parkway, but what about getting even closer and much, much wetter?
The iconic Maid of the Mist is one of the most known of the wet and wonderful attractions. The Maid of the Mist has been touring passengers up close to the falls since the 1950s and is a Niagara Falls tourism staple for a good reason. This pleasant cruise to the falls will get you and your family quite wet but it’s worth it for the breath taking view that you get from the boat.
Thrill seekers looking for something just a little different should take a ride on the Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours. These super-powered boats buzz up the Niagara River getting right beside the whirlpool, one of the most dangerous water features in North America. The trips up and down the river however aren’t easy. The boats crash through class 5 rapids and absolutely soak the boat passengers while powering through the waves. This ride isn’t for little ones, but tweens, teens and the rest of the family will have a blast.
Everyone knows you can see the falls from almost anywhere in the tourist district of the city, but did you know you can even see if from behind? The Journey Behind the Falls is a year round attraction that takes you behind the massive wall of thundering water to really appreciate just how big the waterfall really is. One-fifth of the world’s fresh water crashes down the falls and makes for one memorable experience seeing it from a whole different angle.
Of course, the best way to relax after checking out the falls is to take a plunge in the waters of the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark – the temperature is always a perfect 84 !
